What is capping over, and why do you not do it?

Capping means screwing a thin uPVC sheet over the existing timber fascia. It hides rot rather than removing it, and the gutter ends up fixed through plastic into soft wood. We take the old boards off instead.

Do I need the soffit vented?

Almost always. A roof space needs air moving through it to control moisture, and on most older houses the eaves were sealed up at some point. Vented soffit is the easiest way to restore it.

Can you do just the front of the house?

Yes. Many people do the elevation that shows first, then the rest later. It is slightly less efficient than doing it all at once because of the access, and we will price both so you can choose.

How long does a full roofline take?

A typical three-bedroom semi is two to three days once access is up, longer if spar ends need repairing. You get the expected run of days with the quote.

Do the bottom tiles have to come off?

The bottom course is lifted so the new fascia can go on and the tiles can be dressed back down into the gutter, then it goes back as it was. Anyone fitting a fascia without lifting it is capping over.
