How long does a re-roof take?

A straightforward terraced or semi-detached roof is usually about a week on site once the scaffold is up. More valleys, dormers and chimneys mean longer, and we give you the expected run of days with the quote.

Do I need scaffolding?

For a full re-roof, yes. Stripping a roof from a ladder is neither safe nor accurate, and the scaffold cost is written into the quote rather than added later.

Can you match the tiles on the rest of the street?

Usually. Many West London roofs are a recognisable pattern of plain tile or slate. If an exact match is no longer manufactured we will tell you at the quote stage and show you the closest current product.

Will a new roof need building control approval?

Replacing more than a quarter of a roof covering is notifiable work under the building regulations, so most full re-roofs are. Confirm with us at the quote stage how the notification is being handled on your job, because it decides what paperwork you end up with.

Can I stay in the house while the roof is replaced?

Yes. It is noisy and there is scaffold up, but the roof is never left open, so the house stays weathertight throughout. Cover or move anything stored in the loft, because stripping a roof brings down a lot of dust.
