Can you match my bricks exactly?

Often very closely, and on a weathered wall reclaimed brick usually beats new. Some Victorian bricks are no longer made in that size or colour, so we will show you the nearest options before starting.

There is a crack above my window. Is that serious?

It is often a failed lintel or a rusted steel spreading as it corrodes, which is repairable brickwork. If the crack pattern suggests actual structural movement we will say so and recommend a structural engineer rather than guess.

Do you build garden walls?

Yes, including boundary walls, retaining walls, piers and copings. Foundations and coping detail are what make a garden wall last, so both go into the quote.

How long does new brickwork take to dry out?

Mortar is set within days but a new wall carries construction moisture for weeks. Avoid painting or sealing new brickwork straight away, because trapping that moisture in is what causes early problems.

Can you lay bricks in winter?

Bricklaying stops below about three degrees, because mortar will not gain strength and frost damages it as it sets. We will tell you if a cold spell is moving your dates rather than lay it and hope.
