The work
Find the water before you treat the wall
Damp gets misdiagnosed constantly. A patch at skirting level is assumed to be rising damp when it is a leaking gutter soaking the wall from outside, or a raised path bridging the damp course, or a blocked airbrick. Injecting a wall that is being wetted from above achieves nothing.
So we look at the outside of the building first: roof, flashings, gutters, downpipes, pointing, ground levels and ventilation. Once the water is stopped, we treat the wall itself where a chemical damp course, re-plastering or a membrane is genuinely the answer.
