Will you clear the garden before starting?

Yes, clearance is normally the first stage and it is priced in. It is also the stage that tells us what the ground is actually like, which occasionally changes the plan.

My lawn is always waterlogged. Can turf fix it?

No, and new turf laid on waterlogged ground will fail. The ground needs drainage and the levels correcting first. That is more work but it is the only thing that lasts.

Do you do the planting as well?

We prepare and edge the beds and bring them to level with topsoil. Plant selection and planting is something many customers would rather do themselves or through a garden designer, so tell us which you want.

When is the best time to lay turf?

Autumn and spring are ideal, because the ground is warm and damp. Summer turf will take if you can water it properly, and that is the part people underestimate, so we will be honest about the commitment before laying it in July.

Do you take the waste away?

Yes. Clearance, spoil from the excavation and old paving all leave site with us, and it is priced in rather than added at the end. It is a bigger part of a garden job than most people expect.
