The work
Moss off, without wrecking the tiles
A thick moss covering keeps a roof wet. Wet tiles and slates freeze and spall, valleys silt up, and gutters block with the material that washes off. On a north-facing or overshadowed roof it comes back, so it is maintenance rather than a one-off cure.
The important part is how it is taken off. A pressure washer will strip the surface off a concrete tile, drive water under the laps and blow out mortar, so we scrape and brush by hand and clear the debris out of the gutters and valleys afterwards.

- Gutters and valleys are cleared as part of the job, not charged separately.
